Student Activities
To improve the value of the conference for attendees and, in particular, for students a number of activities have been planned specifically to enhance the educational experience at ISBI 2012.

Meet the editors
Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet with the Editors in Chiefs and Associate Editors of top journals in biomedical engineering. Editors will present valuable information for prospective authors and discuss the "best and worst" practices in paper submission and the "must have" features for a paper to be positively reviewed. Following the presentations, a round table discussion will be held to enable students to actively interact with the Editors.
The activity will take place in a friendly atmosphere during lunch time. Seating is limited and tickets will be issued on a first come-first served basis. So register as soon as possible!

Student Networking Luncheon
Do Do you ever wonder what it is like in other labs? What conferences other students attend? How much they get paid? What they plan to do after graduation? If you are a Phd student or post-doc, register for the student networking luncheon and get answers to all of your questions.
Come, mix and mingle with other students from all around the world that have similar backgrounds to yours.

Best student paper awards

To highlight the "best and brightest" students in biomedical imaging and signal processing, three papers will be selected to receive awards in the student paper competition.
Who can participate? Two conditions need to be meet: 1) You are the first author and the principal technical contributor of the paper. 2) You will register, attend the meeting and present the paper if it is selected for oral or poster presentation. A signed letter is required from your research or academic advisor verifying your full-time academic status in good standing and your expected completion date. Students supervised by members of the organizing committee and employees of the sponsor companies are not eligible.
When and where? Winners will be announced at the last plenary session of the conference.
